One of the premier events in Virginia is the Fall Art Tour of the Artists of Rappahannock that happens every year on the first full weekend in November. The recent, 13th annual Art Tour, was held November 4-5.
More than 100 artists, in more than 30 studios and 8 galleries, participated in the Art Tour in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Many were nationally and internationally recognized with awards to their credit. Creative works included painting, sculpture, pottery, glass, forged ironwork, jewelry, textiles and photography.
The Tour takes you through the beautiful countryside of Rappahannock County. It always begins at the Old School House located in Washington, VA where representative artwork from all the studios and galleries are exhibited. Although most visitors come for a day, touring the galleries and studios could easily take two days. Make your visit a weekend getaway and stay at one of our celebrated B&Bs, guest houses and inns.
All net proceeds raised by the tour will go to RAAC’s Claudia Mitchell Arts Fund which awards grants to organizations and artists of all ages and in all media. To become a sponsor of the 2018 Art Tour, click here.
