Annual Art Tour
One of the great events in Virginia is the Artists of Rappahannock Studio & Gallery Tour that happens every year on the first full weekend in November. This year is the 14th annual event and takes place on November 3 and 4 in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains.
Last year more than 100 artists, in more than 30 studios and 8 galleries, participated in the Art Tour. Many were nationally and internationally recognized with awards to their credit. Creative works included painting, sculpture, pottery, glass, forged ironwork, jewelry, textiles and photography. You can view last year’s program by clicking the link below.
The Tour takes you through the beautiful countryside of Rappahannock County. It always begins at the Old School House located in Washington, VA where representative artwork from all the studios and galleries are exhibited. Although most visitors come for a day, touring the galleries and studios could easily take two days. Make your visit a weekend getaway and stay at one of our celebrated B&Bs, guest houses and inns.
All net proceeds raised by the tour will go to RAAC’s Claudia Mitchell Arts Fund which awards grants to organizations and artists of all ages and in all media. To become a sponsor of the 2018 Art Tour, click here.
