Brenda Van Ness
A very dear friend suggested to me mid-winter that I walk outside first thing in the morning to help diffuse my inner house keeping and to lessen the daily spin attempts of keeping it organized. I took this advice and spent a substantial amount of time outside this past year seeing and then seeking new dimensions of the natural world. It actually simplified my life. This new path heightened my imagination. From it two bodies of work were created. The first continues along my deep love and intrigue with textiles, and the second expands upon my explorations of trees ( specifically roots ) as sculpture.
Susan Dienelt, potter, and Steve Marquisee, musical instrument maker, will be guest artists at Brenda’s studio.
