Margaret Rogers is an artist /printmaker in Sperryville Va. The themes in her work are nature and familiar rural scenes. Although she is mainly a printmaker, her work includes illustration, graphite and botanical drawings. She an alumni of The Corcoran School of Art . Her workplace, equipped with a Griffin etching press, is tucked behind the family’s coffee roastery on the Thornton River. The woods and river surrounding the studio are a designated Wildlife Habitat, which attracts plenty of interesting subjects to draw. Drypoint, aquatint, and monotypes, etchings are some of the techniques used. She is represented in local galleries and has exhibited at art shows in Washington DC, Richmond, and Charlottesville.
